Job summary
Two locum consultant radiologist posts are required to support increased activity in cross-sectional radiology at the Royal Marsden. This is due to continued expansion of radiology services, which reflects the increase in clinical activity in surgery and oncology in the Trust. The post holders will require in-depth knowledge and experience in oncological CT and MR imaging, including body MRI. There will also be a requirement to undertake general ultrasound and competency in performing ultrasound guided diagnostic biopsies is desirable.
Main duties of the job
In addition to clinical reporting there will be a requirement to participate in MDT activity which forms a significant proportion of the radiology department's work.The post holders will form part of the teams supporting the Lower GI and Skin MDT activity (post 1) and Sarcoma (post 2).
The post holder will join an enthusiastic, cohesive team which is motivated to deliver excellence in clinical care and participate in radiology research and innovation. A proven track record in research is desirable but not essential.
The Royal Marsden Hospital has branches in London and Surrey, and the posts will involve working at all sites.
The post holders will for part of the diagnostic on-call rota which is currently a 1:12.
