Job summary
This role will provide the overall management for the day to day of the therapy service, including responsibility for HR issues and service delivery. In addition, it will provide support to all the professional leads of the various services.
Together with the CoT, the post holder will develop and manage the implementation of Therapies and Rehabilitation strategy, ensuring they support the trust strategy and the overall business strategy.
Alongside the Chief Therapy, to be responsible for the operational and financial management of the department, ensuring optimal performance and productivity within set budgets.
Inspire and lead the therapy and rehabilitation services to offer a first-class innovative and pioneering practice that constantly delivers above expectations supporting positive outcomes for our patients.
To be the professional lead, for your profession, ensuring these professionals are up to date with the latest evidence and recommendations for the profession and be the link with the national professional association.
Main duties of the job
To support the Chief Therapy on workforce planning, identifying the future needs of the service in line with modernisation and changing healthcare needs.
To be responsible for recruitment, retention and regular review of staffing levels and skill mix within the service to ensure these meet the needs of the services, national targets, and Trust objectives.
Promote a transformational leadership style and culture of working to significantly impact on services, which actively promotes patient and service user safety and positive patient, service user and staff experience. This will include being a visible leader who provides a positive role model.
Participate and where appropriate lead on regional and national groups, as appropriate to role. Sit on professional organisations, supporting and driving development of professional strategy from external influences.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma/degree level qualification in a therapy allied health professional profession ie physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy or speech and language therapy
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Relevant postgraduate education to Master's level or equivalent level of experience
- Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in specialist field to doctorate or equivalent level
- Experience of working in a senior post in the NHS in the UK
- Proven, relevant clinical experience
- Evidence of on-going personal/professional development through maintenance of CPD portfolio
- Project management experience or qualification
