Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow in Lung Research. This is a 12 month clinical research fellowship, with possibility of extension.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will be involved in the day-to-day running of the research portfolio Lung Unit, based at the Chelsea branch and contributing to the routine service delivered at Chelsea and as required for the Kingston Unit. There may be requirement for occasional visits to the Sutton and Kingston sites with flexibility in this arrangement. The postholder will have flexibility to account for leave requirements of other members of the team at Chelsea. This postholder's duties will involve prepping and attending outpatient clinics (face to face and virtual), ward rounds, MDTs and Research Meetings, whilst taking an integral part in our clinical research programme, including day-to-day management of multi-centre Phase I/II/III studies, writing and designing study protocols, ethics submissions, coordinating clinical trials and pharmacovigilance, data analysis and submission of manuscripts for publication when required. The postholder will be the study physician for clinical trials open at the Chelsea site. There will be a requirement to closely liaise with other members of the research team including trials coordinators, research nurses, research practitioners, pathology staff, radiology staff, data managers, sponsors representatives and auditors, alongside other regulatory and research implementation staff. The postholder will also contribute to the routine Lung Unit clinical case-load in order to effectively identify and recruit patients to research studies.
