Job summary
We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic X-ray / Mammography certified trained radiographers for a 0.8WTE band 7 core X-ray / mammography radiographer post on the Chelsea site . Applicants will preferably have significant post graduate experience and mammography/ x-ray specific experience. Due to the sensitive nature of the work this post is open to female applicants only. This provision applies under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 Section 7 (2) (b) in relation to GOQ. The post holder will work as a senior radiographer in x-ray and breast , liaising with radiologists and clinicians in charge of a patient. They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team liaising with radiology nurses, anaesthetists, operating department practitioners/nurses, ward staff and other departmental staff. The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach re 7.5 hrs shifts per day. This post requires an innovative, highly motivated radiographer good analytical, organisational, communication and computer skills , who is keen to contribute positively to the expanding breast and radiology service .
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience, a BSc in Radiography or equivalent, HCPC state registered and hold the Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography.

The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of an efficient and effective Diagnostic Imaging Service. She will liaise with the clinicians in charge of a patient, with ward and other departmental staff within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be required to work in the Rapid Diagnostic Assessment Centre (RDAC) and the X-ray department.
While working within an oncological environment the post holder will be required to interact directly with terminally ill patients as well as being exposed at times to distressing and emotional situations.
