Job summary

The Royal Marsden Hospital is inviting applicants for a medical oncology clinical fellow. This clinical post will involve working under supervision of the consultants withinGImedical oncology team based in Chelsea in conjunction with the multidisciplinary teams to deliver services to patients, lead on innovative teaching programs, deliver quality improvement projects and initiate new clinical research.

Main duties of the job

This is a fixed term 3 month post, which is particularly suitable for a Doctor who seeks to enhance their knowledge and skills in complex GI cancer patients. Please see job description for more details.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • MB BS, or equivalent MRCP , or equivalent Full GMC registration

Knowledge

Essential

  • Broad based knowledge of and understanding of General Medicine and some oncology experience

Training Expected

Essential

  • It is anticipated that the appointee will have completed CMT2 or equivalent in medicine

Desirable

  • Experience in Oncology.

Management/Audit Experience

Essential

  • Experience of clinical audit

Personal Skills

Essential

  • Good presentational and verbal skills

Desirable

  • Computer literacy/ IT skills appropriate to a clinical service using computerised record systems and electronic prescribing system (VARIS)
