Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of Royal Marsden's Digital Transformation Programme.The DHR powered by Epic allows quicker access to patient records, improved availability of documentation, and a patient portal. The new system has significantly improved patient outcomes, safety, and experience. It will also allow us more access to accurate real-time health information at our fingertips, which will enhance our existing life-saving research capabilities.We are looking for an individual to join our Chemotherapy and Clinical Trails informatics team. Our team support several specialist teams and an extensive Research portfolio where the Royal Marsden ranks in the top 5 cancer research centres globally.We would love to hear from you if you have a strong informatics background in Clinical trials or have experience in Cancer care or as a registered pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician and have a particularYou must be prepared to undertake training (in the UK and overseas) within five months of start date, become qualified in at least one EPR application.Post-pandemic our team will continue to work flexibly with a combination of remote and office based working days.We will provide an opportunity for you to undertake an aptitude test as the first stage of the application process. The test is a great way to ensure you would be successful in passing the Epic Certification and excel in the role of analyst.

Main duties of the job

As an EPR Configuration Analyst the post holder is responsible for:o Assisting with the delivery of the Trust's new electronic patient record (EPR) system within a designated teamo Gaining an EPR qualification through successfully completing the EPR training programme within a specified timeframeo Working in partnership with our partners, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Epico Matching agreed workflows with those already built into the EPR system and/or configuring the EPR system using configuration tools to tailor the systemo Analysing and suggesting ways to improve current workflows and working practiceso Assisting with testing of the systems to ensure it is safe, usable, secure and robust

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above or equivalent qualification
  • Post graduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Continuing Professional Development

Desirable

  • IT qualification in MS Office or equivalent experience
  • PRINCE2 Foundation

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Desirable

  • Operational or clinical knowledge of a specific area including knowledge of relevant operational policies and procedures
  • Experience of supporting change management
  • Understanding of Information Governance
