Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join RM Partners West London Cancer Alliance as a Programme Lead delivering a range of cancer service transformation projects across the geography. This key post will support both South West London and North West London Integrated Care Systems (ICS's) to deliver the aims of the NHS Long Term Plan for cancer, working closely with colleagues across all our partners including acute Trusts, Primary Care and pan-London.We are looking for someone with significant career experience in, and an excellent understanding of the NHS with a particular interest and experience in primary care. You will have demonstrable health care transformation and project management skills and be able to build relationships quickly and use your excellent interpersonal skills and communication to support programme delivery across multiple stakeholders. Main duties of the job

Cancer Alliances were established in 2019 following the publication of the Long Term Plan in order to deliver the commitments around cancer to save 55,000 more lives per year.RM Partners is the cancer alliance for NW and SW London ICS's, supporting 3.7 million people. We are hosted by The Royal Marsden, and work independently to serve our population, working with Place Screening and Provider teams to deliver transformation. Our strategy can be found on the RM Partners website and is signed off by both ICS CEO's.Our stakeholders are critical to our mission, and we are proud of the scale and prestige of the institutions we work in partnership with. Our ambition is to save more lives from cancer through earlier diagnosis and reducing inequalities. Nationally Cancer Alliances role within the wider Health care system is described as leading the whole system planning and delivery of cancer services for each of their ICSs including:o System planning that supports improvement in cancer outcomes and constitutional standards and enables ICS commissioning;o Whole system delivery of cancer pathways, linking primary and secondary care and diagnostic pathways, to support long term commissioning decisions, with resource to support;o Using clinical expertise to ensure every intervention is evidence based.

Essential

  • Masters level qualification in health or social specialism or equivalent
  • Postgraduate management qualification or equivalent
  • PRINCE 2 practitioner or equivalent professional project management qualification

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in relevant Nursing or Allied Health Profession (i.e. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy or Dietetics)

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years experience of NHS operational and clinical management, with a minimum of 1 year in cancer related services
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience of delivering large scale, complex change management projects and programmes and/or service redesign within the NHS environment
  • Demonstrable track record of significant achievement in a project management role
  • Experience and ability to matrix work across multiple teams, organisations and other health bodies
