RM Partners is the cancer alliance covering all NHS and partner organisations in northwest and southwest London. Cancer Alliances have responsibility to save more lives from cancer through earlier diagnosis and reduced inequality in their local areas.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Management Accountant to work jointly across RM Partners and The Royal Marsden. This new role is key to providing financial input, advice, and support, ensuring the successful delivery of month end reporting.
This rewarding and challenging role requires an understanding in financial and budgetary control, demonstrated by an AAT qualification or equivalent, management accounts experience and underpinned by excellent communication skills.
This post will suit someone looking to start and progress a career within NHS finance, actively studying and looking to expand their network across our 9 partnership NHS Trust's and 2 Integrated Care Boards.
The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude, initiative-taking, able to confidently work alone, under pressure and successfully meet deadlines. They will have excellent organisational skills and be able to grow and maintain relationships built on trust across the project management team and budget holders to ensure an accurate financial position is reported, whilst supporting managers to deliver and develop their service.

Main duties of the job
Cancer Alliances were established in 2019 following the publication of the Long-Term Plan in order to deliver the commitments around cancer to save 55,000 more lives per year.RM Partners is the cancer alliance for NW and SW London ICS's, supporting 3.7 million people. We are hosted by the Royal Marsden, and work independently to serve our population, working with Place Screening and Provider teams to deliver transformation. Our strategy can be found on the RM Partners website and is signed off by both ICS CEO's.Our stakeholders are critical to our mission, and we are proud of the scale and prestige of the institutions we work in partnership with. Nationally Cancer Alliances role within the wider Health care system is described as leading the whole system planning and delivery of cancer services for each of their ICSs including:o System planning that supports improvement in cancer outcomes and constitutional standards and enables ICS commissioning.o Whole system delivery of cancer pathways, linking primary and secondary care and diagnostic pathways, to support long term commissioning decisions, with resource to support.o Using clinical expertise to ensure every intervention is evidence based.

Produce monthly budget statements and associated reports and reconciliations for a range of budgets in accordance with agreed timetables. Calculate monthly prepayments and accruals and input journals to the general ledger. Provide information to the RMP Finance Lead to assist in the production of a monthly financial performance report. Identify, investigate, and obtain explanations for significant variances and to discuss these variances with budget holders and managers.
