Job summary
The successful applicant will have direct management of a Team leader who in turn will manage a team of coordinators, working across both Sutton and Chelsea sites. You will be responsible for supporting your Team Lead to deliver against KPIs aligned to the service aims. You will take charge of the overall performance of the unit and participate in regular data analysis and reporting.
The applicant must have acute attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to lead, often under pressure. You will be required to support the theatre scheduling teams, including pre-operative assessment bookings and Endoscopy bookings. You will be expected to work closely and effectively with the Clinical teams, demonstrating a solution-based approach, mindful of referral to treatment times to drive service delivery.
An understanding or experience with hospital bookings, patient centre care and leadership would be desirable. The applicant must have a dynamic approach to working in the NHS environment and demonstrate a desire to strive and deliver excellent patient care.
There are opportunities within the role to gain experience with CBU management tasks which would aid you in developing further in operational management within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
1.1. The Admissions Manager is the departmental lead for Admissions Services and Endoscopy service for both NHS and Private Care Divisions in the Trust. The role entails working works with the Surgical and Medical teams ensuring the timely and accurate booking of all elective patients. The post holder will work closely with the CBU Manager to ensure the policy and process for elective bookings is kept up to date, effective and efficient.
1.2. The Admissions Manager will be responsible for the overall development, training, management and performance of admissions staff to ensure the provision of high quality, effective and patientfocused service. The role will support the continuous improvement and development of the service in line with Trust policy
1.3. The Admissions Manager will demonstrate flexibility to meet the varied and constantly evolving demands of the role. Strong communication and negotiation skills is required, acting with diplomacy and tact whilst robustly dealing with any issues to drive results.
1.4 The Admissions Manager will be responsible, with the support of CBU Manager, for the strategic development of the department, including the development and management of Key Performance Indicators.
