Job summary
We have an opportunity for an ER Specialist to join our Employee Relations team where you will be responsible for providing high level support to managers and staff within designated divisions. You will provide advice and support on a range of ER cases including disciplinary, grievance resolution, sickness absence and performance. You will also give information on HR policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
Applicants will need to have a level 5 CIPD qualification, or a degree or equivalent qualification, HR knowledge and experience
You will need to be proactive, consistent and accurate in your work, be able to plan, problem solve and use good judgement. In addition, demonstrate sound knowledge of current employment law and best practice, and a good level of understanding of the range of ER case work, policies and procedures. Experience of working in ER is essential.
We are looking for a candidate with effective communication skills and resilience to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a professional approach consistent with Trust values at all times.
Main duties of the job
To provide the full range of Employee Relations support to managers. To provide advice and support to the ER team as required on case management and best practice. Personal caseload will be assigned by the Head of ER and will include cases up to and including dismissal, appeals, complex organisational change, Employment Tribunal cases and TUPE transfers. The post holder will lead on annual review of ER policies and will deputise for the Head of ER.
The post holder will be expected to understand and advise on equality and diversity matters relating to ER cases, and how this impacts across the Trust; and work in accordance with the Trust's Equality Objectives and policies.
