This role is based within the Lung Research Team at The Royal Marsden (located at two sites - Sutton, Surrey and Chelsea, London), which is world renowned for excellence in clinical care and clinical research.

Main duties of the job
The Royal Marsden is recognised worldwide for the quality of its cancer services. The Trust's strategic aim is to achieve excellence in cancer treatment and diagnosis, through partnership and collaboration.

- Take responsibility for ensuring all clinical trials within the clinical research unit are set-up, conducted and managed in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, all relevant Standard Operating Procedures, and relevant legislation / governance.
- Manage and lead the administrative / operational team of the clinical research unit.
- Manage and oversee the finances and budget of the clinical research unit, ensuring a balanced portfolio which enables sufficient income generation for the sustainability and development of the team.
- Co-develop and be responsible for the operational delivery of the strategy of the clinical research unit, in conjunction with the consultants / researchers and Lead Research Nurse.
- Lead on business development in the research unit, to develop a sustainable portfolio of commercial and non-commercial research in addition RMH Sponsored trials.
