Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Junior Doctor Rota Co-ordinator has arisen at the Royal Marsden. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Cancer Services Division to provide administrative support to the Medical Workforce Operations Manager and CBU Managers for all junior doctor rotas.The position is a demanding and fast paced role which requires excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously and prioritise effectively.Experience in establishing and maintaining efficient administration systems and co-ordinating doctor's rotas and in particular use of the Healthroster system is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be given full training and a comprehensive induction programme.

This role will require liaising with a number of different staffing groups including junior doctors, consultants, managers and support staff. You will be joining a well-established supportive team. This post is based at the Chelsea site. However, the post holder will be required to work flexibly across both our sites in Chelsea and Sutton to ensure effective cover at all times.

This post offers hybrid working.

Main duties of the job

The Rota Co-ordinator will be the lead in managing junior doctor rotas in Cancer Services. A key function of this role will include the co-ordination of all medical staff rotas to ensure the service is resourced to the required levels each day. You will be responsible for maximising the skills and resources within this staff group including training and development. You will have oversight of locum bookings in order to ensure cost effective and safe staffing levels.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly across both sites of the Trust to ensure that cover arrangements are arranged effectively.

The post holder will be the main point of contact for all junior doctors for all rota queries.
