Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow in Data Science of recurrent Head and Neck cancers. The post is across sites: the Clinical Effectiveness Unit (Royal College of Surgeons/ London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) and the Royal Marsden Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post is a fully funded PhD for big data analysis to define the landscape of recurrent head and neck/thyroid cancer in the UK. It provides a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, carrying out research whilst developing advanced analysis and research skills.

The consultants on the team at the RMH, who are all faculty within IReC, include Prof Kevin Harrington, Prof Chris Nutting, Dr Shree Bhide, Dr Kate Newbold, Dr Kee Wong and Professor Cyrus Kerawala.

- ST3 or above level of experience in full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a parttime or flexible basis) at least one of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage junior doctors
- Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems; able to prioritise clinical need
- Motivated to ensure the achievement of defined targets
- Is up to date and fit to practise safely
- Excellent numerical skills
