Specialist Ophthalmology Pharmacy Technician

Job summary

To provide a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to the ophthalmology department in conjunction with specialist pharmacists.

The role involves provide a framework for the safe, efficient and cost effectiveuse of drugsby the team,by the provision of education and training, procedures, policies and guidelines, drug usage information, and clinical audit.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Pharmacy Technician to providea consistently highly specialist pharmaceutical service for patients seen within theOphthalmologyteamatUHSx in line with Trust and National standards.

You will:

  • Deliver a high quality, safe and effective pharmacy service, actively participating in the delivery of services to all areas of the department.
  • Supportthespecialisedophthalmologyensuring that medications are provided ina timelyfashion with minimal wastage and improved cost effectiveness.
  • Develop, lead and contribute on service development projectsand to drive theservice forward, including but not limited to biosimilar switching and formulation switching.
