Job summary
We are a busy anaesthetic department with a commitment to train both local and international trainees and have an active educational programme. The successful candidate will have extensive experience within anaesthesia and have a minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience with 2 years experience in Anaesthesia.
Successful applicants will undertake anaesthetic sessions across a range of surgical specialties including general surgery, trauma, maxilla-facial, urology and gynaecology.
The Anaesthetic department at Worthing is extremely forward thinking and has established itself within the research arena, with multiple presentations at National and International meetings.
The hospital is located between the sea and the South Downs National Park, giving ample opportunity to pursue a variety of different interests.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will take part in a generalanaestheticsrota,comprisinganaesthetic duties for a wide range of surgical interventions, both planned and emergency (specialties detailed above). Regular obstetric and ITU sessions are also expected and will be detailed in job plan.
On Call Commitment: The Specialty Doctor formsan important rolewithin our department working as part of our Junior Doctor on call team. It isanticipatedthat the Specialty Doctor will rotate across all specialities (Cepod, Obstetrics and ITU) All of our rotas are a 1:10 ratio and are recognised with anadditional2PA allowance.
