Infusion Nurse

Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the Trust as an Infusion Nurse on a fixed term/secondment basis for 10 months, providing speciality care for patients with Crohns and Colitis. The infusion room offers a vital service to our patients by initiating and administering biologics and other therapeutic medication to transform the lives of patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess the needs for patients receiving therapy and ensure all care is provided.

  • Management of day unit appointments and scheduling with the support of the Senior nurse.

  • Providing emotional support to patients and families who are coping with long term chronic conditions, which have an impact on their daily lives.

  • Keeping patients and relatives fully always informed.

  • Maintaining accurate and up to date nursing documentation via the database and electronic patient record system.

  • Committed to providing a safe, high-quality service.

  • Work with professions allied to nursing to ensure a unified approach to Gastroenterology care.

  • Maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

  • Supporting senior members of nursing staff in the clinical area and deputising in their absence.
