Paediatric Health Care Assistant

Job summary
- Assist with the provision of healthcare services within the Children's department. The post holder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse to ensure the individual needs of the children and families are met.
- The post holder will provide the necessary care for children and parents/carers under the supervision of a qualified nurse. This supportive role includes clinical and administrative support as required
Main duties of the job
- Provide a high standard of communication with staff and patientsWill display effective, clear and sensitive communication when dealing with children/young people and families and be able to contribute and communicate clearly both verbally and written within the Multidisciplinary Team.
- Ensure telephone enquiries are managed sensitively and appropriate action initiated.
- Receive and direct visitors in a helpful and friendly manner.
- Ability to play, interact and communicate with children /young people of all ages.
- Support the clinical manager in the implementation of any changes/actions as a result of a complaint.
- Will relate necessary information /details as required and guided by the qualified nurse to the appropriate persons.
