Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well- established and dynamic Maxillofacial Unit as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, working across the sites at St. Richard's Hospital, Chichester, and Worthing and Southlands Hospitals. The post is a full-time 12 month fixed-term post, with a view to a substantive appointment. You will join 6 other Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, 1 Specialist Doctor, 4 Specialty Doctors, 2 Specialist Registrars and 6 DCT's, to provide the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. The department is renowned for its head and neck surgical dermatology service, which you will contribute to. You will take an active part in teaching and training specialist registrars and DCTs.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgery service to out-patients and in-patients.You will take part in the 1:5 on-call rota for emergency care, based at St.Richard's Hospital Chichester.You will contribute to the surgical management of head and neck skin cancer.You will be involved in teaching and training junior staff.You will support Specialty Doctors and Specialist Doctors in Oral Surgery.

Essential
- oBasic medical degree
- oBasic dental degree
- oFull GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- oEligible for full registration with the GDC
- oSuccess in the Intercollegiate Speciality Examination in OMFS, or approved equivalent, at the time of the AAC
- oEntry onto the GMC Specialist Register in OMFS, or eligibility for entry, within 6 months of the date of the AAC
- oCCT in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- oEntry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
