Job summary
We are looking for a Speciality Doctor to help us with our management of the Ophthalmic need in our catchment areas. This is a vacant post and is to support all subspecialities, as well as provide injections, laser and Minor operations. Ability to provide cataract operating would be welcome. If you are able to fulfil this role then please get in touch and come and visit us.
We are a small, friendly department and provide world class care in our two Ophthalmological surgical centres, at St Richard's, Chichester and Southlands Hospital which is a state of the art centre, built in 2017. There has been a substantial investment in the service in recent years to help us manage our workload.

Main duties of the job
This post is an exciting opportunity for a junior doctor in ophthalmology, to gain experience in working within our department and to enhance basic skills and general ophthalmology knowledge, all of which are essential in developing as an ophthalmologist.The doctor will be supervised by senior colleagues and consultants, learning to use specialised equipment, and developing their skills.There will be opportunities around being introduced to common surgical procedures and one theatre list will be incorporated in the timetable.The doctor will be encouraged to develop and lead on research and audit projects within our department and a session will be allocated for these activities
