Job summary
Brighton critical care unit is a 31 bedded unit. We have recently moved into a brand new unit which has capacity for 55 beds. We have beautiful views over the sea from the patient bed areas.
The band 6 role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ICU nurse with the critical care course to take on a leadership role within our friendly unit.
We are a busy trauma centre with neuro surgical, general and trauma patients from all over the south East.
Main duties of the job
- To plan, provide and evaluate skilled evidence-based care for the critically ill patient, L2 & L3.
- To support and develop colleagues by mentoring and assessing their skills.
- To promote practice development within Critical Care.
- To shift lead and support staff
- To fulfil Local / Trust requirements in specified audit / project work.
- Under guidance of Team Leader, to undertake performance of development reviews and shift coordination/shift leading in conjunction with /absence of Band 7 Critical Care Nurse
