Job summary
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic team-player to join our busy, dynamic Maxillofacial Unit.This is a full-time, substantive Specialty Doctor post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery based in West Sussex, at St. Richard's Hospital, but with activity also scheduled at Worthing Hospital and Southlands Hospital in Shoreham.The focus of this appointment will be to maintain the delivery of an oral surgery service, and head and neck surgical dermatology service, to local patients.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will join a well-established team within the Maxillofacial Unit, where we provide a compehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Service, including Head & Neck Cancer (primary surgery takes place at the adjacent Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth), orthognathic surgery, salivary gland surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. In addition there is a large head and next skin cancer service.
The clinical duties of the post include the following:Out-patient OMFS clinic (new and follow-up)Out-patient Minor Oral Surgery and Skin SurgeryIn-patient Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery and Skin SurgeryEmergency and Trauma Surgery on CEPOD
The postholder will be a qualified dentist with postgraduate experience in secondary care OMFS; a medical qualification and experience in the management of head and neck skin cancer would be additional benefit.
