Job summary
The post holder will provide operational leadership and management to the designated Directorate and its associated workforce and services.
This role is pivotal within the senior Radiology Team, directly reporting to the Head of Service and collaborating closely with the Lead Radiographer, Clinical Directors and Radiology teams to facilitate the delivery of high-quality Radiology services across the Trust.
Working in partnership with other members of the Divisional Management Team, the post holder will promote effective governance and ensure that the highest standard of clinical care is delivered. They will be responsible for ensuring all clinical and non-clinical performance indicators, targets and objectives are met in line with national and local standards.
Working with the Divisional Management Team, the post holder will contribute to the development, delivery and translation of Divisional and Trust clinical service strategies, corporate and divisional objectives and the development and implementation of business plans and service developments. The post holder will take a lead role in ensuring that quality, performance, CIP and budgetary targets are monitored and improvement plans are devised and implemented where necessary to enable compliance.
The post holder will be required to engender effective partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure effective liaison and partnership working with commissioners is developed and sustained.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the day-to-day operational function, leading and managing the Radiology Department across all sites. Ensure the provision of a safe and high-quality Radiology service, offering support to clinical and support staff, all while operating within the patient-first framework.
Promote effective governance practices, striving for the delivery of the highest standard of clinical care within the Radiology Department. Working with the Lead Radiographer to ensure compliance with national and local standards, meeting clinical and non-clinical performance indicators, targets, and objectives while working within financial constraints.
Develop and implement action plans to address areas of non-compliance, collaborating with the Lead Radiographer, Clinical Director and Head of Service. Proactively identify and rectify issues to ensure adherence to standards.
Ensure the team operates within standard operating processes, embedding these procedures within the team to maximize resource efficiency and capacity.
Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and productivity across all facets of Radiology services.
Actively participate in the Trust's Manager on-call system, contributing to the responsiveness and effectiveness of the organisation.
