Job summary
The post holder works with the Operational Managers - Medical Education Manager, Foundation Manager and GP ST Manager to provide a comprehensive administrative service which supports the national quality standards in education and training. This supports the medical education of doctors in training.
The Faculty Administrator has contact with approximately 180 junior doctors and all relevant Tutors, Local Faculty Leads (LFG) and Consultant Educational/Clinical Supervisors. The Faculty Administrator provides administrative support for all relevant LFGs including assisting the Operational Managers with the LFG Leads in the planning and co-ordinating of educational programmes. This will include agenda preparation and minute taking.
Although the position is based at Royal Sussex County Hospital, there may be occasions where cross-site cover is needed.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work closely with colleagues in the immediate and wider Medical Education team, including, College Tutors, Clinical an Educational Supervisors, Trainee Representatives, Medical Education Managers, and Director of Medical Education, to provide robust administrative support for the Postgraduate Medical Education training programmes and to doctors in training.
This will include dealing with day-to-day enquiries concerning training, administration of weekly teaching programmes, processing of trainee assessments by using an E-Portfolio system, supporting with the administration of the Trust induction programme for doctors in training, and attending and providing administration support (e.g., preparing and circulating agendas and taking minutes) for the Local Faculty Group (LFG) meetings.
