Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a speech and language therapist with established skills in voice disorders and head and neck cancer who is looking to further develop in these areas. You will join a well established and respected speech and language therapy department comprising services across our hospitals. We place value on kindness, understanding, fairness, transparency, working together and excellence.

We will be delighted to welcome you to a supportive and innovative SLT team working closely with ENT services and multi disciplinary teams to deliver clinical services as per our Patient First programme.

Comprehensive supervision will be provided from the relevant clinical and service leads and there are excellent CPD opportunities. There will also be opportunities for training and supervising SLT and ENT colleagues.

We run clinics and inpatient services across all our sites and will be very happy to be as flexible as possible in finding a working pattern within this that best suits you.

Main duties of the job

This job involves participation in our regular Joint Voice and SLT led endoscopy clinics and participating in FEES and videofluoroscopy clinics. We are also developing a virtual service for a proportion of our Voice patients. There are opportunities to work in innovative ENT laryngology clinics alongside ENT colleagues and be involved in developing new projects in laryngeal dysfunction with the respiratory MDT. This post requires experience of independently managing a caseload of voice patients and you must have specific competencies in instrumental and perceptual assessment of voice and in evaluation of stroboscopic laryngeal images.
