Job summary

We are looking for a well-organised, motivated individual to join our busy and friendly team within the West Sussex Breast Screening Department in thisfixed term role. The Medical Secretary role is niche to the department and is a new and developing role.

You will be required to work to a high standard of accuracy and be able to demonstrate initiative in planning your own workload in a way that supports the Breast Screening department. We require the candidate to have agood attendance recordand be flexible in their approach to work, we are also flexible towards colleagues within service demands as a work/life balance is extremely important to us.

The successful post holder should have a proactive and friendly attitude and be able to demonstrate substantial administrative experience and be able to meet the main duties of the role as identified in the job description.

You must be able to work under your own initiative, possess excellent organisational skills and be experienced in dealing with confidential information.

Support the Very High Risk Screening programme.

Support the service with communication plans and delivery of a safe and effective quality management system.

Organise meetings, take minutes and distribute within 7 days.

Participate in and contribute to health promotional work for the Breast Screening service, working on tackling health inequalities with colleagues.

Organising and undertaking audits and maintaining internal audits as required.

  • Experience of working with quality management systems/quality assurance
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of dealing with the general public.
  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in the NHS or in a related field
