Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Outpatients department at Lewes Victoria Hospital for a part time Band 5 nurse.
To work within the clinical environment of this department covering a wide range of specialities , including Cardiac, Vascular, ENT, Digestive Diseases and Eye clinics. To support clinicians in the clinics. To assist with minor procedures. To keep up to date with training to ensure you are working to your full potential. To support and help educate junior members of the team and student nurses.
The post holder will work as part of the multi-disiplinary team under the supervision & guidance of the band 7. They will develop effective working relationships with consultants, registrars, junior doctors, nurses, patients, carers and reception staff.

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality of care supporting patients through their outpatient journey whether it be a clinic appointment or a procedure.
To create a welcoming and safe environment
To ensure staff are trained and knowledgeable about the area that they work within
Check stock and equipment to ensure clinics can run efficiently
- To support patients throughout their outpatient journey. To provide support and education where appropriate.
- To have excellent analytical and judgemental skills to best care for patients with a variety of conditions.
- To learn to assist in minor operative procedures including dermatology procedures.
- To be able to assist in emergency situations according to Trust policy.
- To assess, develop and help implement patient care
