Job summary
We are looking for a Consultant Colleague to help us with our management of the Ophthalmic need in our catchment areas. This is a replacement general post with flexibility to support a sub speciality interest. If you are able to fulfil this role then please get in touch and come and visit us.
We are a small, friendly department and provide world class care in our two Ophthalmological surgical centres, at St Richard's, Chichester and Southlands Hospital which is a state of the art centre, built in 2017. There has been a substantial investment in the service in recent years to help us manage our workload.

Main duties of the job
This is a general job with flexibility to develop sub speciality interests, including research. Surgically, the predominant need is to undertake cataract surgery, and this is done in both our two centres (predominantly Southlands hospital). Any subspecialty interest will be considered, and we can offer flexible working solutions; please come and have a look around our department and meet the team for more information.
We work closely with our Ophthalmic colleagues who are in the Sussex Eye Hospital, and we see this relationship becoming closer as time progresses.
The on call commitment for this post is a 1 in 9 in conjunction with the other Consultants; there is a separate VR on call element which is provided in conjunction with the Sussex Eye Hospital.
