As part of our Kaizen Office, and as part of a passionate and dedicated team, the Head of Strategy Deployment will provide visible, inspiring and engaging leadership, developing and delivering the Trust's Strategy Deployment via the Patient First Improvement Programme (PFIP, the Trust's continuous improvement framework), to develop and improve the lives of patients across Sussex.

Adept with working in a highly complex healthcare environment, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Patient First Improvement Programme to provide day to day leadership to the programme and the Kaizen Office.

In our collaborative environment, fostering excellent working relationships with Divisional and Corporate leadership teams will be essential. You will be a strong communicator who is able to build relationships at all levels, testing and challenging in an appropriate manner in a number of forums to support effective and sustainable change.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties;

To provide the leadership, development and delivery of the Trust's Strategy Deployment as part of the Patient First Improvement Programme (PFIP, the Trust's continuous improvement framework) and ensure activities are aligned to the Trust and PFIP objectives. Develop and deliver Leadership Training Programmes and support in the design and development of all other training offerings to staff at various levels of the Trust, building continuous improvement capability and ensuring the Trust's Strategy is deployed throughout the organisation. This will also include using subject matter expertise to coach and mentor in line with agreed roadmaps.

Foster excellent working relationships with Divisional and Corporate leadership teams and ensure measurement systems are in place to track the maturity of continuous improvement in their areas. Responsible for the cascade of lean leader behaviours through direct coaching and support at all levels of the organisation and the promotion of continuous improvement across the Trust's business.

Bringing your tangible experience of improving processes, services and systems through strategy deployment, youll be part of our Senior Leadership Team and will work with other leaders and colleagues throughout the organisation, to develop and cascade lean behaviours and develop the Patient First culture across the Trusts services. You will possess a deep understanding of lean tools and techniques and be able to apply these appropriately in a wide variety of scenarios, supporting teams with your subject matter expertise.

With your intellectual strength and flexibility, you will be able to understand complex problems and support teams to rationalise these into workable solutions.   • Deliver highly complex messages, some of which may be of a highly sensitive and contentious nature. There will potentially be major barriers to acceptance, as this will lead to different ways of working and challenging the status quo
  • Be able to present complex information in a variety of ways including production of Committee reports, presentations to a range of audiences from Board to front line staff and make extensive use of visual management across the Trusts strategy deployment pillar.
  • Ensure communication and engagement plans are in place that facilitate the celebration of success, sharing of best practice and learning across all part of the organisation.
  • Working closely with the Assistant Director of Patient First Improvement Programme, provide day to day leadership to PFIP using recognised programme, project management and improvement methodologies. Assist with strategic planning and prioritisation of PFIP activities and provide ongoing oversight and evaluation of the programme, including benefits realisation.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to develop a thorough understanding across service/specialist areas, gaining information and insights to support in effective, relevant and sustainable strategy deployment.
  • Continue to mature and evolve the Patient First Improvement Programme governance, chaired by the Trusts Chief Executive and in particular to develop the measurement system for continuous improvement programmes of work within the Strategy Deployment pillar
