Job summary

We are looking for a Band 6 Registered Nurse to join the Clinical Infection Research Team based in the Clinical Research Facility in Brighton. We work alongside the HIV and Sexual Health services coordinating and delivering high quality studies for our patients. Our portfolio includes multi-centre international trials evaluating new drugs and strategies for treatment and prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections. We contribute data to international cohort studies to better understand living longer and growing older with HIV and co-morbidities.

Experience in clinical research, HIV or sexual health is an advantage but training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Our team also support the UHSussex Research and Innovation Strategy in areas including Infectious Diseases, ENT, audiology.

Main duties of the job

You will coordinate and support a range of clinical trials, including local academic studies and international multi-centre commercial clinical trials adhering to the principles of Good Clinical Practice in research.

The role includes recruitment and follow up of clinical trial participants, maintaining national monitoring standards including conversations about sensitive subjects while following protocol defined trial procedures.

Excellent communication, education and attention to detail is essential to liaise with participants, clinicians, sponsor representatives and research colleagues.
