Job summary

Following a decision to invest significantly in medical workforce systems, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Medical Rostering Specialist ; primarily responsible for fully supporting the implementation of all aspects of the Trust's Medical e-Rostering Systems.

The Medical Job Planning /Appraisal Implementation Specialist is responsible for supporting the roll out of the e-appraisal and revalidation and Job Planning elements of the Medical Workforce Systems Programme (the Programme) for the duration of the implementation period (12 months). Reporting to the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation/Job Planning Manager, the post holder will be part of a small team whose responsibility is to extend an existing e-appraisal and deliver the e-Job Planning systems across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Medical Job Planning /Appraisal Implementation Specialist is responsible for supporting the roll out of the e-appraisal and revalidation and Job Planning elements of the Medical Workforce Systems Programme (the Programme) for the duration of the implementation period (12 months). Reporting to the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation/Job Planning Manager, the post holder will be part of a small team whose responsibility is to extend an existing e-appraisal and deliver the e-Job Planning systems across the Trust.The role will also include:

  • To provide hands-on local delivery of the medical e-job planning system, ensuring that the systems are delivered on time and above stakeholders' expectations
  • To provide high quality project, service and administrative support to the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Manager, Responsible Officer and Lead for Appraisal and Revalidation relating to non-career grade doctors' and Consultants' medical appraisal and revalidation.
  • To provide high quality project, service and administrative support to the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Manager, Responsible Officer and Lead for Appraisal and Revalidation relating to appraisal and revalidation of non-career and Consultant Dental practitioners in accordance with the General Dental Council.

  • Advanced knowledge in manipulating complex data, experience in statistical analysis. Fully conversant with all aspects of information systems and databases relating to workforce and Human Resources.
  • Experience of participating in the rollout of e-workforce software (including eg. staff training, interaction with BAU line management, etc.).
  • Evidence of ability to work across professional teams and organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of the design delivery and evaluation of training.
  • Experience of managing effective administrative systems and processes
