Job summary

The accommodation department is looking to recruit a highly motivated and well-organised person with excellent computer and communication skills for the position of Accommodation officer. Previous experience as a letting agent or travel agent would be highly beneficial. The post is mainly based at Worthing Hospital, but occasional cover at St. Richard's Hospital might be required.

The new post holder would support the Trust's Accommodation Manager and Assistant Accommodation Manager in all aspects of providing the Trust's residential accommodation, for all grades of staff. The main duties of a successful candidate would be the allocation of accommodation, and ensuring that tenancy agreements and protocols are in place for the recovery of rent and deposits. Liaising with the residents concerned.

Main duties of the job

  • Arrange and confirm bookings, through agencies and departments.
  • Dealing with telephone and email enquiries. Provide over the counter service at the accommodation office reception including receiving monies and card payments via PDQ
  • Liaise with finance for deduction of rents and deposits from employees' salary
  • Calculate cost of accommodation.
  • Check for the rent payments to be received on time.
  • Takes an active role in organizing the doctor's changeover and allocation of rooms.
  • Allocate rooms for locum doctors, ensuring invoices are requested.
  • Design posters and handbooks for distribution
  • Takes responsibility for the office in the absence of Assistant Accommodation Manager.
