Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Access Manager to join the Haematology Department, in the newly created Cancer Division at UHSussex. The successful post holder will be an experienced and proactive individual, with knowledge of patient pathways and outpatient and treatment waiting list management.
With a background in team management, you will be a credible and visible leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
You will have a key role in the delivery of high quality, effective and flexible patient access, reception and ward administration.
This role is ideal for someone with an eye for detail and desire to help improve the patient experience, to ensure that treatment is delivered in a timely and caring way.
Main duties of the job
As Patient Access Manager, you will be responsible for the line management of administrative staff within the service including allocation of work, recruitment, training and development and appraisal.
Working alongside the Operational Manager, senior management and clinical teams, you will look to identify and implement ways to improve clinical pathways for our patients from referral to treatment, while working towards achieving national targets.
You will manage outpatient and treatment waiting lists, support validation of patient pathways and highlight any potential delays.
The successful post holder will be expected to work across sites, working closely with staff based in Brighton, Worthing and St Richards.
