Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse to join our Respiratory team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Interstitial Lung Disease to work in the support and care delivery of this patient group. The team require a nurse who can work autonomously in a hospital and clinic setting and have excellent communication skills in order to liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary teams. Experience in Respiratory medicine would be an advantage but is not essential as Internal and external training will be provided.
What is important is your enthusiasm for the role,desire to develop and ability to provide high standards of patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will facilitate and manage the provision of high-quality nursing care to patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) in order to provide optimum health and support for patients, their families and/or carers.
They will utilise skills of leadership and advanced clinical expertise to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers and staff and provide advice, education and support from diagnosis to end of life care. They will work collaboratively with primary, community, and secondary health care professionals, supporting individuals attending the Trust either as inpatients or outpatients and ensure smooth transitions of care into the community setting.
Be an autonomous practitioner and carry out advanced assessment and treatment of a specialist caseload of patients with Interstitial Lung Disease.
To be responsible for clinical update and action (with support of an administrator) to a weekly multi professional ILD MDT.
To maintain patient related documentation according to UHSussex NHS Trust and NMC standards, Code of Conduct
To provide specialist advice to other professionals both within the Trust and community
To adhere to Trust policies and Professional bodies Code of Conduct and be guided by National Standards where they exist.
They will be actively involved in education, audit and research and contribute to the development of the ILD service
