Job summary

We are seeking an experienced analytics professional to join our organisation as Head of People Analytics for a 12-month secondment. This strategic leadership role will shape our future workforce and HR strategy through the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics using workforce and HR data.

You will lead a dedicated team in building workforce reporting tools, conducting statistical analysis, and developing predictive models that provide actionable insights to enhance organisational performance. As the ESR Lead, you will be responsible for maintaining our Electronic Staff Record system to the highest standard, ensuring data integrity and compliance with NHS requirements. This position plays a vital role in driving evidence-based decision-making across all levels of the organisation, with a particular focus on improving retention through data-led recommendations.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop effective models for accurate workforce forecasting and lead the creation of predictive models for people data
  • Create and maintain dashboards for key reporting initiatives (Gender Pay Gap, WRES, WDES) while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Spearhead the people analytics strategy, incorporating industry standard forecasting methodologies
  • Combine people data with business metrics to enable evidence-based decision-making and challenge current strategies
  • Lead the People Analytics team, fostering continuous improvement and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Act as the Registration Authority Manager and ESR Lead, providing expert workforce systems advice
  • Prepare and present complex data to diverse audiences, including Trust Board and other committees
  • Work with key internal stakeholders and system providers to deliver effective system solutions

Analytics and Data Management

  • Design and implement advanced analytical models to provide accurate short, medium, and long-term forecasts
  • Develop predictive models for key people metrics including employee relations cases, sickness absence, retention, turnover and recruitment
  • Lead the creation of meaningful data dashboards and analytics tools for statutory reporting requirements (GPG, WRES, WDES)
  • Provide real-time analysis to influence operational decision-making with immediate impact on service delivery
  • Challenge existing strategies with evidence-based business intelligence
Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Management
  • Present data-driven insights to Trust Board, Executive Management Board and other committees
  • Collaborate with Finance to produce accurate workforce KPIs and predictive models against financial establishment
  • Work closely with operational leadership to trend and predict changes and provide evidential material to support change initiatives
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations regarding outputs, feasibility and timelines
  • Communicate complex and potentially contentious data trends to diverse audiences using advanced communication techniques
ESR and Systems Management
  • Act as the organisation's ESR Lead with responsibility for system integrity and effectiveness

  • Implement quality assurance and audit protocols for workforce systems
  • Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission and Commissioners' requirements
