Job summary
Emergency Care Support Worker Apprenticeship Course duration: 10 weeks - classroom based learning and 4 weeks driving. The 14- week training will have annual leave incorporated into the training, therefore the classroom training will be 7 weeks. (Please note, no additional annual leave will be granted during the 14-week course period.)
You will assist a Paramedic or Technician/Ambulance Associate Practitioner in providing ambulance aid and drive under emergency blue light conditions when required. Support will be on hand from your first line manager and your crew mates.
Please Note: This opportunity is for the named location only and we would only shortlist those within a 45-minute commute. If you do not hold a current C1 entitlement on your licence, you will be required to obtained the C1 entitlement in order to start.Maths and English GCSE grade A-C (4) or Functional Skills level 2, You will be required to provide original copies of qualifications at interview.
Main duties of the job
- A full and current driving licence, held for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points. A Group 2 standard DVLA medical will be required and there are restrictions for minimum uncorrected eye-sight as part of this test, please refer to the DVLA for further guidance.
- full C1 (manual) category on driving licence.
If you do not hold a current C1 , you will be required to obtain the C1 entitlement in order to start.
- GCSE Maths and English, Grade A-C (4) or above (or equivalent level 2 Qualification). Original certificates required at assessment.
- If you have misplaced your certificates, please request copies from the relevant examination board. We are unable to offer any candidates without certificates.
- Able to pass an occupational specific fitness test and pre-employment medical.
- Able to complete academic requirements of the role, as well as front line dutie, The ability to complete mandatory training and pass examinations and assessments
Please Note: It is required to hold both English and Maths Qualification but Maths qualification is mandatory requirement at the time of applying/Onboarding, we will support to gain the other via Crawley College.
