CLINICAL EDUCATION LEAD

Based - SECAmb Clinical Education Centre atHaywards Heath College (subject to change) with a requirement to travel across the Trust's geographical area.

Salary - Agenda for Change Band 7- £43,742 - £50,056 per annum

Hours of work -37.5 hours per week, offered as a secondment position. Part time appointments will be considered through mutual agreement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a keen and proactive individual to support the education of clinicians within South East Coast Ambulance Service. This would suit a highly motivated and adaptable individual who is passionate about the support and development of clinical staff.

Main duties of the job

This role will involve providing support to new and existing clinicians within the Trust, particularly those enrolled on developmental educational programmes such as Transition to Practice and Preceptorship. There will also be support for the Continuing Professional Development of all clinical colleagues, and other educational activity involved in the role.

The Clinical Education department is entering an exciting phase of development in an ever changing and evolving environment. This role has the ability to shape the future careers of ambulance service staff as well as promoting the highest standard of education delivery for the Trust. This is an important role in the delivery of the clinical education strategy.

The post holder will perform a key role in the clinical and professional development of staff whilst promoting best clinical practice across the range of ambulance duties. The role will also involve aspects of operational support in front-line duties.

The successful applicant will be expected to use highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to develop, support and motivate individuals and groups within the learning environment. An ability to develop and maintain excellent inter-professional partnership working with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally will be required in this role.

There is a requirement for the applicant to be educated to graduate level or possess a similar standard of knowledge, skills and experience and be a HCPC registered paramedic who has completed preceptorship. Training qualifications and experience of working within an education environment are desirable but not essential, however the post holder should be enthusiastic about the development of others and keen to work towards a recognised training qualification.
