Job summary

Patient Engagement Administrator

The Patient Engagement Administrator will have responsibility for the administrative duties required to support the continuous development of the patient engagement workstream and all patient engagement activities across the Trust.

This will be achieved through the effective day to day support of patient engagement activities and patient satisfaction through effective service user engagement.

The post holder will assist with the planning and delivery of projects/programmes in line with patients' needs and priorities. You'll act as a point of contact and respond to patient engagement enquires from staff, external partners, and patients. You will ensure the patient voice and experience is heard and continuously look for ways to enhance the development of patient engagement within the Trust.

The patient engagement administrator will be expected to produce reports to support the analysis of data from the Patient Experience Questionnaire (PEQ) for our 999 service. There will be a requirement to support various workstreams within the organisation and to ensure the patient experience is captured and used to inform projects such as:

  • The Trust Quality Account
  • Focus Groups
  • Community Forum
  • Other Patient Engagement Events

The patient engagement administrator will also maintain strong links with our partners and external stakeholders to support effective patient engagement processes, continuous improvement, and a culture of shared learning.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the engagement of patients and wider community in future service improvement and co-design work across the Trust
  • To provide regular feedback on concerns and insights impacting patients and the community.
  • To act on feedback from relevant persons and other persons on the service provided for the purpose of continually evaluating and improving services.
  • To provide administrative duties to support the leadership, planning, implementation and evaluation of all patient and public engagement or events.
  • To monitor the Patient Experience Questionnaire (PEQ) data and identify areas of service development and areas of success ensuring effective delivery and learning.
  • To liaise with relevant teams to provide oversight of Patient engagement across the organisation.
  • To use data from the Business Intelligence team to highlight any trends or gaps to the Patient Engagement Lead.
  • To work in collaboration with the Quality Improvement team using patient engagement processes and insight to support continuous improvement.
  • Be a contact for patients and colleagues on all issues relating to patient engagement.
  • To work with the communications team regarding patient/community engagement including social media campaigns.
  • Undertake the role with awareness to equality and diversity issues, ensuring fair and equitable access to services.
  • Promote the Trust Values and actively identify and promote quality and patient safety innovations.

Essential

  • 5 GCSE, A to C or equivalent knowledge gained from professional experience.
  • Knowledge of patient experience and engagement within a healthcare setting.

Desirable

  • Recognised certification in patient experience and/or engagement

Knowledge

Essential

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel as minimum), MS Teams.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Datix Patient Safety and Risk Management systems.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the pre-hospital and community care operating environment and wider NHS health economy.
  • Broad knowledge of patient safety issues and initiatives within the NHS and with direct involvement with people who use services.
