Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our digital learning project. It provides a dynamic, driven individual with a unique opportunity to join the Trust's Inclusion, Learning and Organisation Development team to take forward the learning management system transition project and digital learning portfolio.

You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple competing priorities and work with a wide range of stakeholders.

Working with subject matter experts, you will use your expertise to support, develop and create high quality, engaging and innovative eLearning. You will manage our Learning Management System and be responsible for the quality of data and management reports.

Main duties of the job

The Digital Learning Manager will lead on all elements of digital learning across the Trust optimising the learning management system and project manage the digital learning transformation project.

Work closely with subject matter experts to plan and manage excellent learning experiences to meet the needs of colleagues and the organisation.

Plan, design and develop in-house and bespoke eLearning that is fit for purpose meeting statutory and mandatory requirements. Using your expertise ensure the full functions of the learning management system are used to provide a total learning experience for all colleagues.

Provide regular and ad hoc training compliance reports and appraisal completion reports for the Trust's managers and leadership team.

The position is full-time, two-year fixed term requiring flexibility to work to challenging demands and tight deadline. This post is suitable for agile/remote working.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To project manage the digital learning transformation project
  • Provide day to day management of the maintenance of the Trust learning management system.
  • Deliver developments in a timely manner, prioritising work appropriately and using project management tools to achieve this.
  • Coordinate the core skills training programme for all SECAmb staff and launch any new Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) subjects with SMEs.
  • Work in partnership with SMEs to identify learning needs for all mandatory and non-mandatory training and update the training matrix to ensure that it is up to date and reflects the national, regulatory and Trust requirements.
  • Plan, design and develop in-house and bespoke eLearning using eLearning authoring tools and other specialist software as an integral method of delivering learning for corporate learning and priorities as well as personal development.
  • Provide technical expertise to users on eLearning including training L&D and Operating Unit (OU) Administrators as super-users.
  • Be the ESR/LM expert providing advice, guidance and first line support to all users.
  • Provide accurate and timely information for use within the directorate, internal training providers, managers and senior leaders.
  • Work with colleagues to determine how best to optimise the Trusts use of ESR and to develop associated project plans for implementation.
  • Regularly carry out data quality checks on the system in liaison with the Workforce Information Team and HR colleagues and take corrective action as required.
  • Provide Trust-wide training compliance information in line with the Trust reporting timetable. Analyse, evaluate and interpret in information and produce reports to support decision making.
  • Generate standard reports using Business Intelligence to assist the Trust maintaining compliance with statutory and mandatory training standards.
