Ambulance Technician
We are actively looking to increase our workforce and invite people looking to relocate to the NHS and SECAmb area whilst receiving the 5% fringe allowance. We have vacancies for Ambulance Technician Trust Wide.
We offer a regular rota pattern to all experienced staff joining us and lots of internal promotion and development programmes to progress your career. Depending on where you are relocating from a relocation package may be applicable to this appointment further information is available from the team at the assessment centre.
Main duties of the job
Essential criteria
- Full IHCD Technician certificate only or equivalent BTEC Level 3 Ambulance Aid
- CandidatesMUSThold a full C1 (manual) category on their driving licence as well as a Blue Light Driving Qualification prior to joining the trust
- 12 lead ECG recognition of key life-threatening rhythms, acquired through knowledge, training and experience
Please note, all qualifications will need to be verified by the candidate producing original copies of certificates. If you have misplaced your certificates, please request copies from the relevant examination board and upload a statement detailing this to the application form as required.
Desirable
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C - or Level 2 English and Maths / a commitment to obtain these
You will have a driving assessment and upon joining you will go straight into a clinical conversion course.

We are looking for empathetic and committed individuals and hold a BTECH Level 3 / IHCD Leve qualification and Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving and full C1 Licence held. Applicants must have an excellent knowledge of pre-hospital, be methodical and systematic and demonstrate compassionate care in their daily interaction with patients.
Applicants must also have the ability to deal with stressful and sensitive situations whilst being highly motivated and enthusiastic.

The recruitment process for this year will include the following elements:Submission of an application form detailing your history and qualificationsAttending an assessment centre as listed above.Fitness test.Uniform fitting.A discussion with an operational lead to match you to the best area of SECAmb to commence employment (subject to vacancies).Following success passing the assessment centre a conditional offer then be made within a week and we will commence compliance, which covers ID Checks, DBS checks, Occupational health, Reference checks.A condition of employment is that until you have completed 52 weeks in the area of the trust you have applied for that you cannot apply to join the transfer list to move to another trust location during this period. This is to support the mentorship and skill mix and ensure vacancies are planned for.
