Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Locum Specialty Doctor to provide maternity leave cover in our Greenwich Community Paediatric Team.
The broad responsibilities of the post are:
Specialist Community Paediatric Neurodevelopmental assessments
Child protection medical assessments
Looked After Child assessments
Assessments for Special Educational Needs
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will be based at Highpoint Hose, Shooters Hill Road, London and will be required to work in line with service needs including the provision of cover where necessary.
2. The post holder must always carry out her/his responsibilities with due regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunity Policy.
3. The post holder will be expected to be capable of assessing children referred to our service and seen in secondary clinics with appropriate training and support.
4. Responsibility Limits: The post holder should not work at a level outside their level of competence. Any concerns should be discussed immediately with the line manager. All staff have a responsibility to inform those supervising their duties if they are not competent to perform a duty.
5. This is an outline job description and should not be regarded as an inflexible specification. Priorities may change in line with service needs and new duties introduced after consultation with the post holder.

2. To carry out other medical and neurodevelopmental examinations on primary and secondary school children where appropriate.
3. To contribute to the reviews of children with complex needs, including transition arrangements, and to assist in the early identification of needs with liaison with appropriate agencies.
4. To participate in multidisciplinary and multiagency discussion and planning meetings. To liaise and work with the multidisciplinary teams and carry out multidisciplinary assessments as indicated.
