Job summary
To join a dynamic psychology team within a supportive Trust in Oxleas. To help support the work of the psychology team within a multi-disciplinary community learning disability team. The post will involve supporting and involvement in a wide range of specialist assessment and interventions for adults with a learning disability alongside related administration, completion of audits, service evaluation and project work. There will also be opportunities to undertake clinical work under supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist and support the psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. The post is also key in supporting a wide range of community projects involving working with partner organisations to improve the quality of life of our clients.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake a range assessments with people with a learning disability (including related to service eligibility, therapeutic support, complex behavioural needs and dementia.
- To assist in the formulation of people with a learning disability's needs, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
- To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups or clinical projects.
- To work with other staff to contribute to multi-disciplinary discussions or care guidelines as agreed with the clinical psychologist providing supervision.
- To undertake data collection, data inputting, analysis and the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes
- To assist in report writing and presentations.
- To support the delivery of a range of therapeutic and community groups.
