Consultant Psychiatrist CAMHS - Bromley Adolescent Team

Part-time - 6 PAs

We wish to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adolescent Team who provide a highly specialist service for young people in Bromley. You will work with adolescents up to 18 years and their families/carers, with significant and acute mental health difficulties who are at risk of requiring Tier 4 inpatient care.

Bromley CAMHS maintains close links with CAMHS services across all three boroughs (Bexley, Greenwich) and there will be an opportunity to contribute to ongoing work in developing services for young people with crisis and acute presentations. We are a friendly, busy and thriving service, regarded as an accessible and effective service.

Applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly will be welcomed.

Main duties of the job

You will manage a complex caseload providing assessment and intervention within the multi-disciplinary team, including: psychiatrists, clinical psychologist, child psychotherapist, nurses, family therapist, and support staff, in close partnership with partner agencies working with young people in Bromley. You will also provide specialist advice and support to professional colleagues both internal and external to the Trust.

The community intensive outreach service has been developed as an extension to the original adolescent team. The service offers assertive and intensive multi-disciplinary interventions as a community alternative to inpatient care for young people with significant and acute mental health needs. The team uses a Mentalization based approach.

Bromley CAMHS provides specialist mental health consultation, assessment and treatment to children and young people aged 0-18 years with severe and enduring emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties (and their families/carers). The service provides evidence-based interventions informed by national and local policy via multi-disciplinary teams and treatment pathways, and is aligned to the core principles of the Children & Young People's IAPT framework (CYP-IAPT).
