Job summary
Following new temporary investment, we have been able to create a 2 year fixed term Specialty Doctor post within the Greenwich Generic CAMHS team based at Shooters Hill, London SE18.
The Speciality Doctor will work with disciplines in the Greenwich Generic Team to provide assessment, consultation, advice and support. The post holder will work with internal and external agencies within the child's network to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes for young people presenting with neurodiversity and comorbid , enduring mental health difficulties.
Greenwich CAMHS has played a leading part in the development of Greenwich's Joint CAMHS Strategy and is represented on many of the major planning groups for children's services within the borough

Main duties of the job
You will work to provide a specialist service for children and young people up to 18 years old with significant and enduring mental health difficulties, along with their families and carers within the Borough of Greenwich. You will manage a caseload providing clinical assessment, a range of evidence-based treatment, as well as interventions with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). The MDT includes child psychotherapist, psychologists, art therapists, family therapists, along with 2 consultants and a core trainee. It provides a specialist tier 3 CAMH service for the borough based at Shooters Hill and other Health Centres to provide choice and improve access. The team focuses on children and young people who need specialist assessment and evidence based treatment, such as children and young people with signs of psychosis. mood disorder, self harm, severe anxiety disorder and severe psychosomatic conditions. Clients with needs better addressed by one of the other specialist teams or Tier 4 services (see below), will be referred to other teams as required
We have close relationships with the wider specialist CAMHS, our cross-borough crisis team for young people, our DBT service and the wider South London Partnership.
