Mental Health Support Team (MHST)
2 Year Fixed Term Post
Bexley CAMHS was successful is securing a bid to provide two Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) within Bexley London Borough education settings. Bexley MHST commenced in January 2021 and has been fully operational since January 2022. From January 2023 we will be expanding the service with an additional team.
The post holder will work within Bexley education settings providing low intensity manualised 1:1 guided self-help interventions, groups and workshops to children, young people and families and support the whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing within education.
Applicants must have completed the required EMHP and / or CWP post graduate training and have previous experience working with children and young people in either a health or educational setting to be considered for this post.

Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within all primary and secondary schools. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Team is part of Bexley CAMHS schools pathway.
We are looking to recruit a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our now fully established team.
The post holder will provide a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self- management interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties. The post- holder will work for Bexley CAMHS providing a service within a number of Bexley education settings.
