Job summary
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic clinical psychologist to provide a highly specialist service for young people in the Borough of Greenwich within our adolescent team.
The Greenwich adolescent team is a multidisciplinary team who work at the interface between tier 3 and tier 4 providing rapid assessment, crisis intervention, assertive outreach, and therapeutic interventions for young people between the ages of 12 -18 years and their families who present with severe and complex mental health problems. The role provides opportunities for crisis intervention, brief and long-term therapeutic work. The team also provides teaching and in reach consultation to Greenwich Social Care and the Youth Offending Service. There are also other opportunities for working alongside our partner agencies. The team works within an Adaptive Mentalization based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT) a systemic framework providing a team approach for working with the client, the team, the family and professional networks. In addition to the team's links with our partner agencies part of the post involves having a lead self-harm role delivering consultation and training to external agencies and conducting audit.

Greenwich Service Overview
Greenwich CAMHS is part of Oxleas C&Y.P Directorate. The Trust provides mental health, learning disabilities and community services to the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, and Greenwich. The Trust has consistently achieved high ratings in quality assessments, patient and staff surveys with a culture of supporting staff whilst providing excellent services within a robust clinical governance framework.
Greenwich CAMHS service is large and comprises of the following teams:
- Adolescent Team including the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team
- Mental Health in Schools Team
- Early Intervention Schools Team
- Generic Team
- Looked After Children and Edge of Care Team
- Learning Disabilities & Neurodevelopmental Team
Greenwich CAMHS service opening hours prior to COVID were between the hours of 8am and 7pm. We are currently working towards returning to these hours post pandemic.
Psychology Discipline
The post-holder will also be part of a large psychology team within Greenwich CAMHS that offers excellent support, supervision, and opportunities for continued professional development. CPD opportunities linked to PDR and funded by Psychological Therapies Department.
Young Peoples Directorate Overview

Working autonomously within professional guidelines, consistent with CYP-IAPT principles and within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to overall service delivery as required. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
