Bexley ADAPT team provides a space for supporting staff through the team's leadership and multi-disciplinary team framework. The team is committed to staff and service development, staff wellbeing, quality of service provision and partnership working.

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Anxiety, Depression, Personality disorder and Complex Trauma (ADAPT) Team in Bexley Community Mental Health Services for a Community Mental health Nurse. The ADAPT Team is based in the vibrant Borough of Bexley.The post involves undertaking a variety of comprehensive assessments for service users re-referred or new to Adult mental health services, holding a caseload of clients and providing short term interventions within an experienced multi-disciplinary team.The post holder will work closely with GPs, and other agencies to provide comprehensive secondary mental health interventions for clients under their care. Previous experience of nursing within a community mental health team is an added advantage for this post. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse with excellent communication skills to join the team.

Main duties of the job

The post entails comprehensive assessments, care planning, and evidence based interventions for service users presenting with Anxiety, Depression, Personality disorder and Complex Trauma.

The posts attracts an element of care coordination supported by an experienced multi-disciplinary team.

Job Purpose and Summary

The Community Mental Health Nurse role is suitable for Registered Nurses who have successfully completed preceptorship and have registered as an approved NMC mentor.

The post holder will deliver, or advise on the delivery of, high quality safe nursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.

As a Community Mental Health Nurse you will promote and develop clinical leadership and clinical practice and be a positive role model to junior members of the team through the practice of evidence-based care. You will be expected to support professional development through clinical appraisal and supervision and contribute to the ongoing educational programme for staff, fostering a positive learning environment. Your professional and personal development will include further postgraduate study and you will be encouraged and supported by your line manager to undertake Masters programmes.
