The Mental Health in Schools Team is part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government's Green Paper for Transforming children and young people's mental health. Alongside this Greenwich has an established Early Intervention Team which provides consultation and intervention into the schools in Greenwich. Combined MHST and EIT form the school's pathway in Greenwich CAMHS.
Greenwich MHST was established in 2019, the service is designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings. The team is made up of Senior Practitioners, Lead Practitioners and qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP's). The team is based across education settings, Greenwich CAMHS and remote working.
We are an additional resource within a whole-system approach to promote resilience and wellbeing, support early intervention, enable appropriate signposting and deliver evidence-based support, care and interventions.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Manager role will focus on providing day to day clinical, supervision and leadership for the MHST. The team will require ongoing development and there will be specific work to ensure robust integration across the school's pathway. The role will be working alongside community partners and developing relationships between MHST and educational settings. The role will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the MHST, providing high quality, safe and responsive specialist mental health services to children, young people, parents/carers and professionals provided in accordance with Children and Young People's IAPT principles, in partnership with service users and partner agencies, working as part of a multi-agency system.

In the absence of the team manager, the post holder will deputise managerially and provide clinical support for the MHST team. The post holder will undertake delegated line management of junior staff both informal and on a formal basis. The post holder will assist the team manager to provide co-ordination of the team and participate in undertaking rota duties as appropriate.
