Specialist Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for an exciting vacancy within Bexley secondary care mental health. This post is suitable for a newly qualified psychologist or existing Band 7 candidates looking for diverse experiences in an alternative setting.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with experienced psychological therapists where there is ample opportunity for continued professional development and specialist training courses. We welcome applicants who enjoy working closely alongside other disciplines and within a context where multiple psychological approaches are valued.

You will work with people with different backgrounds and will ideally be passionate about equal opportunities and client-centred care. Working with clients within a secondary care team, you will have an opportunity to develop experience and skills and specialist skills in psychological interventions in working with this client group.

We especially wish to develop family and group work in the teams. The post holder will work collaboratively with teams in different clinical contexts including group work, assessments, systemic and family consultations and individual therapy. They will receive regular specialist supervision and access to networks to support their professional development. If desired, there are also opportunities to gain experience in different teams including our local Family Therapy service.

The locality bases are in Erith. As a London borough, Bexley offers a rich, culturally diverse and stimulating environment and the post will receive the outer London weighting.
