Job summary

CAMHS Clinical Nurse Specialist (Neurodevelopmental), Band 7 Permanent Full Time: 37.5 hours per week

We are pleased to advertise an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join our dynamic and energetic CAMHS services as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Bromley CAMHS Neurodevelopmental & Learning Disability Team (NDLD), located within the heart of the London Borough of Bromley at our clinic base near to Bromley South train station.

This is a critical role in leading co-morbid mental health and ADHD assessment and treatment pathways in Bromley CAMHS, including opportunities to work autonomously as a non-medical prescriber.

We are passionate about working with children, young people and their families/carers, and are dedicated to providing high-quality and caring community mental healthcare services that improve outcomes and build resilience in community relationships.

We recognise that some candidates may not have previous experience of working within CAMHS - we do not see this as a barrier to your application and encourage interest from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Through a supportive induction process, we will work with you to identify your transferrable skills and to ensure you are supported to develop where this is needed.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will join a vibrant and experienced multi-disciplinary team in providing a variety of evidence-based interventions, drawing upon your professional skills and values as a Mental Health Nurse, for children and young people presenting with a range of mental health difficulties. This includes specialist assessment, non-medical prescribing interventions and risk management in addition to developing and delivering consultation, training and supervision for other professionals working with children and young people in other settings.

In Oxleas, we are committed to developing our workforce and supporting you to progress into the many other roles available within the Trust - this includes offering you a range of internal and external bespoke CAMHS training/CPD opportunities, including PBS and supervisor training. We also offer clinicians the opportunity to develop experience across a range of specialty pathways within CAMHS through rotational posts, in which staff can develop skills in working with children and young people with a range of presenting needs (e.g. Looked After Children, Adolescent, early intervention).
