Job summary

Consultant Psychiatrist Greenwich Community Mental Health Rehabilitation and Enablement Service 6 Pas - 24 hours per week £84,559 - £114,003 per annum + £2,162 LW (pro rata'd)

We are seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist for the Greenwich CMHRES Team. The post holder will be the 0.6 WTE Consultant within the team supported by a 0.5 GPVTS Trainee. The CMHRES Team work with clients that have a primary diagnosis of Psychosis, are willing to engage with the team to work on building their skills and independence.

Main duties of the job

  • The services aim to be flexible, accessible and available outside of standard working hours (on call rota). The Pathways of care aim to offer individuals involvement and when possible, choices regarding their treatment.
  • The Trust provides services to a richly diverse population; the locality teams will work with service users and carers in their community to ensure that the care and support provided is sensitive and appropriate.
  • A personalised care plan will be devised in consultation with the Service User and their Carer/Family where appropriate. The care plans should follow the SMART principle.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients who are on CPA and within the team. This will involve attending multi-disciplinary team meetings and case discussion meetings. The post holder will be expected to attend zoning meetings.
  • The post holder will in addition be expected to chair CPA meetings, offer crisis appointments to patients who are in the red zone and offer home visits and telephone advice to general practitioners and other professionals.
  • The post holder will have formal outpatient clinics each week. On average there are 4-6 patients.
  • There is protected time for administrative work, as well as protected time to deal with mental health act related work.
  • The post holder will have supervision duties for the trainee.
  • Regular training and supervision of staff is essential to maintain safe and effective clinical practice within the locality team.

Job responsibilities

  • The post holder will have formal outpatient clinics each week. On average there are 4-6 patients (CPA and or new assessment) reviewed per day (2 clinics).
